Anthropologie

Whimsy comes first when designing for a brand that celebrates self-expression.
When working with Anthropologie, you quickly learn that you are designing for a very specific “her.” She is someone who wants to look uniquely like themselves. The lifestyle shopping destination celebrates personalized style, whimsy and self-expression.
I was tasked with contributing packaging in their home decor and accessories categories. There is no set packaging system across the store, instead each product is bespoke. The only requirement is that it fit the store vibe. Cue personality-driven illustration work.
Packaging the awkward shapes of aprons and bowl covers required clever folding and dielines. The results were charming formats that were robust on shelf. Die cut peek-a-boo windows allowed customers to view the patternwork inside apron gift boxes. Jewellery and accessory packaging provided the freedom to build a stage on which the product could shine. The double-edged sword of adorable product plus whimsical packaging made these items irresistible.
